IYPT 1999
IYPT 1999 – Vienna, Austria
(May 23 – May 29, 1999)
Overview
The 12th IYPT continued the refinement of the tournament’s format and rules, following the 1997 Stuttgart regulations. Hosted in Vienna, Austria, this edition welcomed 19 teams from 17 countries. It featured three Selective Fights, a Semi-Final, and a Final held on May 28. For the first time, PowerPoint slides were reportedly prepared, though the standard remained transparency-based presentations. The competition language was officially English, with Russian used informally in discussions with interpretation provided by jurors.
